David Trippett is an English musicologist and a pianist who found the fragments of Liszt’s opera ”Sardanapalo” and brought it to the stage for the FIRST time in history of music. In 2018 ”Sardanapalo” had two premieres in Europe and the 3rd was at the opening of the NOMUS Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia.
After the concert, Mr. Trippett, who is also a professor at Cambridge, shared with us how exciting it was to work on this piece and how Liszt wanted to prove himself with this score as a grenuine composer, not just a virtuoso.
