The author is the American composer Michael Shaffer who dedicated his piece to Belgrade\u2019s musicians.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Guda\u010dki kvartet Infiniti - snimanje Mary Jane sonate\" width=\"697\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/doIDutZdpo4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The long and difficult love story stands behind these scores, explains the violinist Vladimir Uratarevi\u0107 for \u201eClassicAll\u201c. \u201e<em>In the beginning, everything is sweet. Then, it floats chronically somewhere in the seventh sky, and finally, it ends up with blue notes<\/em>. The first movement is &#8216;<em>Cookie Jack&#8217;, the second is &#8216;Chronic Heaven&#8217;, and the third is Sour Blue Dream.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The inspiration for three-movement sonata Shaffer got from Traffic\u2019s song <em>Dear Mr. Fantasy<\/em>, the classic <em>Whiter shade of pale<\/em>, and the blues standard <em>Trouble in Mind.<\/em>\u00a0According to Uratarevi\u0107, Shaffer \u201edecomposed\u201c these songs and adjusted them to his musical language.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5122\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 281px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5122\" src=\"https:\/\/classicallradio.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/infiniti-300x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"271\" height=\"361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/classicallradio.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/infiniti-300x400.jpg 300w, https:\/\/classicallradio.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/infiniti-rotated.jpg 433w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 271px) 100vw, 271px\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">The Infiniti quartet: Ivan, Sara, Ivana and Vlada<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ivan Simeunovi\u0107 finds this music very complex and very peculiar: \u201e<em>We needed a bit of a time to get into the subject of the piece and I must say that everything is amazing. Especially the fact that this material is going overseas! And I believe that is not the end!<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Most of <a href=\"https:\/\/classicallradio.com\/articles\/en_US\/2019\/11\/13\/twenty-children-an-elegy-for-the-sandy-hook-victims\/\"><strong>Michael Shaffer<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s opus consists of musicals, however, it is interesting that he also wrote theater plays. In the last couple of years, Shaffer is a regular visitor in Belgrade, a city that motivates him in a special way. It was here that he composed the <em>Mary Jane<\/em> sonata.<\/p>\n<p>\u201e<em>He\u2019s found some kind of peace that he doesn\u2019t have back home. Or it is different there. He has his morning routines and he is very serious when it comes to working. He is very disciplined, which is fantastic \u2013 to look at a 70-year old with that kind of work habits&#8230; And you realize that you, being much younger, don\u2019t have any excuses for anything anymore<\/em>\u201c, says Vlada while smiling.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation between them has grown into a wonderful friendship. On this occasion Michael couldn&#8217;t make it to Belgrade, however, the two of them are permanently online. Besides the compact disc, a DVD from the studio will be released, and, Infinity hopes, the Belgrade concert premiere will follow.<\/p>\n<p>Although this quartet has many years of experience, every performance carries a unique excitement and responsibility. In that way, Ivan Simeunovi\u0107 points out that it is important to stay focused, not ruin the continuity of the piece, and be able to transmit the suitable emotion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201e<em>Every movement is a challenge for itself. However, I believe that we are up to it.
