Milan Savic was one of the first students of the Novi Sad Academy of Arts who had the opportunity to learn how to perform classical reportoare on the instrument that is best known in jazz music – the saxophone! In order to promote classical saxophone and all the different genres this instrument is attached with, including jazz, four years ago he founded the first saxophone festival in Belgrade – Belgrade Saxperience – that is held at the beginning of every autumn.

He played many premieres of Serbian renowed composers, gave numerous solo recitals and master classes across Serbia and abroad and his tour in France with the pianist Uki Ovaskainen was very noted. Because of his great achievements and artistic engagements the French Ministry of culture awarded him this year with the Order of Arts and Letters!

If you ever wonder how saxophone can sound like spiced up with Balkan motives, check out Aleksandar Sedlar's composition with the great solo by Milan Savic, of course!
