The guitar is a small orchestra. It is polyphonic. Every string is a different color, a different voice. A.Segovia

Guided by these words we can say that the real artistry of playing a guitar lies in constant search for diverse orchestral sounds through epochs and Danijel Cerovic is no doubt the artist that discovers it with his performance. Playing the transcriptions of renaissance and baroque music, original 19th and 20th Century pieces and contemporary music written for guitar and ensembles with guitar, he has done a lot in broadening the guitar repertoire and further integrating the instrument into the family of classical instruments.

He recorded the music of Scarlattii, Sor and Giuliani as a soloist, but he also performs in the Amarili Duo with mezzo soprano Amanda Stojovic and in the Montenegrin Guitar Duo with Goran Krivokapic. Danijel and Goran arranged six English Suites by J.S.Bach and recorded them for NAXOS which gained praise by both audience and music critics for their historically informed performances in a new, fresh approach on two guitars. Their début recording that included contemporary works by Carlo Domeniconi, Ástor Piazzolla and Dušan Bogdanović was released in 2013 by the MMC Records. Check out Danijel’s discography.

Scarlatti wrote his 555 sonatas for piano, but they get a new shine when played on guitar, which this artist confirms from the very start to the end.
